Prof. (Dr.) Rajiv Kumar Gill is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun. He has more than 22 years of teaching, research and academic-administration experience in Computer Science and Engineering.
He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Uttaranchal University. His doctoral thesis, Machine Learning Based Analysis of Proposed Memetic Algorithm and its Application in Traveling Salesman Problem, investigates how machine-learning techniques can guide the design and tuning of memetic algorithms for hard combinatorial problems.
His research spans evolutionary and nature-inspired optimisation, machine learning, data science, soft computing, IoT and image-processing applications. He has contributed to government-funded projects, patents, authored and edited books, and peer-reviewed publications, and he has supervised M.Tech and Ph.D. scholars.
He has served as Dean of Academics, Acting Principal, Head of Department and Conference Chair, and currently manages the Board of Studies at UIT, Uttaranchal University.
